$500 Fudge Recipe

(I got this recipe in Logan, UT in about 1969)

Prepare in a large bowl and mix up lightly:
2 cubes of butter (1 cup) not margarine ; slice into strips with a butter knife
2 cups nuts, cut up fine
2 small pkg. or 1 lrg. Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or I prefer milk chocolate)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook the following to a rolling bowl and stir thoroughly during a 7 minute rolling bowl. Do not do this in the microwave as it will boil over and make a big mess!
4 ½ cups sugar
1 large can (13 oz.) evaporated milk

Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients in the bowl. Stir well.
Add miniature marshmellows for a milder flavor. If you want the fudge to look like rocky road, add marshmellows at the end after it is stirred up well. If you want the marshmellows to melt, stir into the liquid before adding to the dry mixture in the bowl. Spread into a buttered pan. You can refrigerate to help it set up quicker.

Shopping List:
Butter
Nuts
Chocolate chips
Vanilla
Sugar
Evaporated milk
Miniature marshmellows

I have to give this away as fast as I make it, or else I will eat it all. Michelle and James have gotten real good at it. I like their's best, so far this year!

See ya all on Christmas Eve. We'll plan to eat close to 5:00! Love Ya, Mom and Dad

December Plans

Everything is on to meet at Grandma Prathers if you can on December 19. Usually late afternoon. Come early if you want to enjoy the snow! Bring small gifts from Santa for everyone and candy to share if you want to exchange with others. I'll let you know about what food to bring.

This Saturday, (Dec. 12) we are meeting with grandma, at our house on Alice Way, to learn how to make divinity or any other candy you might like to try! She makes the best divinity. She often flavors it with different types of jello and nuts!

Lets hope for good weather (roads) and dry air. (If there is too much moisture in the air, it won't set up as well but I'm sure it will all get eaten! Love Ya! Mom and Dad
